Our administration would like to remind you of the recent maritime security incidents occurring in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden through the attached MSA No. 04-2023r1 SECURITY INCIDENTS IN THE RED SEA. The International Merchant Marine Registry of Belize advises its fleet to be vigilant when transiting or operating in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden (GOA).
The Yemen’s Houthis have been carrying out a series of drone and missile attacks through these listed high-risk areas; therefore, our Belize-flagged vessels are encouraged to use the course around Africa as an alternate route as done by many shipping companies for the safety of their ships and crew.
Lastly kindly ensure that the New Directives in the advisory are implemented and adhered to onboard your vessel.
